About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager – Outpatient Imaging to support the daily operations and overall success of the imaging department. This leadership role partners with the Radiology Manager to drive excellence in financial performance, staff development, quality improvement, and operational efficiency. The Assistant Manager ensures delivery of high-quality, patient-centered imaging services while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. This role may also perform diagnostic procedures and provide education to patients, families, students, and staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Diagnostic Technologist in an acute-care setting
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in an acute-care environment
  • Current California CRT (Certified Radiologic Technologist) certification OR Current ARRT certification
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Strong knowledge of: Human anatomy and physiology, Radiographic positioning and imaging techniques, Radiation physics, protection, and radiobiology, Quality assurance and regulatory compliance
  • Familiarity with: Joint Commission standards, ACR accreditation requirements, California Title 17 & 22 regulations
  • Excellent: Leadership and team management skills, Communication and interpersonal abilities, Problem-solving and analytical thinking, Organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to: Motivate and guide team members effectively, Delegate responsibilities appropriately, Monitor and optimize departmental resources, Make data-driven operational decisions

Nice To Haves

  • 3–5 years of additional supervisory or managerial experience
  • Associate Degree or higher
  • Certification in a specialized imaging modality (e.g., MRI, Nuclear Medicine, or other recognized specialty)

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing daily staffing and workflow requirements
  • Support departmental productivity goals and budget initiatives

  • Support organizational goals and departmental strategies
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered imaging services
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance monitoring
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, including: Joint Commission, California Title 17 & 22 regulations, ACR standards
  • Monitor image quality control and enforce departmental policies
  • Serve as a liaison between patients, families, physicians, and care teams
  • Collaborate with internal departments to coordinate imaging services
  • Promote effective and respectful communication across teams
  • Report on patient, employee, and physician satisfaction, as well as quality outcomes
  • Maintain technical competency in area of expertise
  • Assist in resolving operational challenges and implementing solutions
  • Complete employee evaluations and performance reviews in a timely manner
  • Provide education, training, and support to staff and other departments
  • Direct oversight of Lead and Senior Technologists
  • Collaboration with clerical staff, nursing teams, and service engineers
