About The Position

America's Best, part of National Vision, is seeking an Assistant Manager - Optical to oversee daily operations of the eyeglass department and support store operations. The role focuses on achieving financial and performance goals, maintaining operational and quality standards, delivering outstanding customer service, and supporting and motivating associates. The Assistant Manager works with store and corporate leadership, helps manage staffing, and ensures promotions and merchandising are implemented. Duties may vary by location to comply with state laws concerning required licenses or credentials.

Requirements

Optical sales experience.
Proven ability to lead, coach, and build associate relationships.
Sound understanding of store operations and standards for success.
Strong oral and written communication skills for effective team management.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Strong organizational skills, including planning work and monitoring progress toward goals.
Ability to analyze, create, and understand financial reports.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems of varied scope.

Supervising experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor and achieve profit, sales, and performance goals, including reviewing the P&L.
Optimize and oversee the eyeglass department to promote efficiency and compliance with company policies and operational guidelines.
Promote outstanding customer service and ensure associates provide it.
Ensure quality standards are met; review remakes and enforce applicable policies.
Communicate with the General Manager, District Manager, and Corporate Office, and provide store reporting as required.
Ensure store promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising are in place, and keep associates and doctors informed about current promotions.
Supervise and motivate Opticians and Contact Lens Sales associates, and Receptionists in some stores; ensure timely completion of daily functions.
Assist the General Manager with forecasting staffing needs, recruiting, selecting, and retaining staff.
Motivate associates to exceed performance standards.
