The Assistant Manager is responsible for upholding Hy-Vee's core values, including honesty, integrity, friendliness, and caring. They will oversee employee training, handle employee issues, and coordinate disciplinary procedures. Additionally, they will assist management with pricing, promotional displays, product quality, and departmental profitability. The role involves ensuring compliance with accounting procedures, overseeing building maintenance and sanitation, and utilizing store technology. Forecasting labor schedules, evaluating employee performance, and enforcing safety procedures are also key responsibilities. The Assistant Manager directs merchandise ordering, ensures compliance with policies and laws, and assists with merchandising and display construction. They will also solve problems affecting job duties and productivity, adhere to company policies, and report to work as scheduled.
