The Assistant Manager of Campus Facilities: Part-Time is responsible for performing building maintenance tasks, including preventive maintenance, construction, repair and maintenance of all electrical, lighting, plumbing, painting, masonry, and carpentry work. This role involves monitoring, troubleshooting, and performing necessary repairs on electrical systems, craft and carpentry installations, and miscellaneous building maintenance tasks. The position also includes maintaining lighting fixtures, doors, locksets, and hardware, assisting with regulatory compliance, and performing assigned preventive maintenance. Additionally, the Assistant Manager will troubleshoot and repair electromechanical, pneumatic, audiovisual, and electronic exhibits and equipment, analyze problems for accurate repairs, and maintain an inventory of maintenance parts and supplies. A key aspect of the role is ensuring a safe, clean, organized, and secure work environment, following workplace safety guidelines, and collaborating with facility staff, vendors, and contractors. The role also provides building maintenance support for on-site tenants and performs routine preventive maintenance on exhibits and mechanical systems. Minor building repairs, such as fixing drywall, patching floors, and repairing doors and exhibits, are also part of the responsibilities. The Assistant Manager will replace minor components like light bulbs and fuses, maintain and clean restrooms and designated areas, and assist with larger repair projects. Keeping the facility clean and tidy, ensuring proper storage of tools and supplies, and implementing preventative maintenance programs are also crucial. The position requires close collaboration with other MOSI staff, volunteers, contractors, and vendors. Availability for events, weekends, and a flexible weekday schedule is necessary. Other duties include assisting with special event setup and breakdown, documenting maintenance activities, following safety rules, and supervising facility volunteers.
