From your PASSION to ours Lactalis USA is hiring an Assistant Manager for our 3PL Operations, located onsite in Delanco, NJ. The Asst. Manager – 3PL Operations (Delanco, NJ) will be responsible for coordinating logistics operations between a 3rd Party -managed warehouse and the LUSA Logistics team. The role will report to the Director of Warehousing and provide coordination and reporting between operations at the 3rd party location, and transportation, inventory management, Logistics Quality, and Customer Service organizations across LUSA. Key areas of focus will be analyzing local daily execution performance, near to mid-term capacity modeling for staffing and dock management, and timeliness of service, for inbound and outbound operations. This key role will be the primary local contact for LUSA logistics at the 3PL facility.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree is required.
A major in Supply Chain, Logistics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a STEM related field is favored.
2+ years relevant experience within a logistics, warehouse, or transportation setting is required.
FMCG experience is strongly desired.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities successfully and work independently while demonstrating initiative.
An effective individual contributor, however, demonstrated leadership and “team player” skills; able to interact and lead at various levels within the organization.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills, and ability to build direct relationships with hourly associates.

Responsibilities

Analyzes, coordinates and schedules a variety of transportation activity on both outbound and inbound shipments using data driven logistics management systems.
Provides excellent communication, both verbal and written, to all internal and external customers.
Proactively notifies key stakeholders related to service and capacity plans and changes.
Maintains close relationships with Customer Service, Supply Planning, Transportation, DC’s, and other groups to meet customer requirements
Identify and participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies, including backing up departmental colleagues in their primary roles.
Build and maintain effective contacts/relationships with freight providers.
Monitor warehouse performance targets both short and long term. Utilize quantative metrics to provide operational and performance reports to internal stakeholders. Prepare monthly financial and operational data reporting to facilitate improved logistical spend and to identify potential savings.
Problem solve and design analytical creative solutions for LUSA’s distribution & transportation network, facilitate implementation of change
Maintain effective relationships with key internal/external stakeholders. Continuously improve the solutions we provide.
Helps inventory control manager monitor inventories; tasks include but are not limited to; order & inventory monitoring, statistical data validation during on site visits, year-end inventory physical count & reconciliations, monitor warehouse accuracy and address issues that arise.
