We’re seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our team to help with store operations, customer service and team development. This role involves assisting with store functions and day-to-day store activities, helping customers in a positive and approachable manner, and addressing their questions or concerns. The Assistant Manager will also be responsible for organizing and transferring merchandise, performing opening and closing procedures, processing corporate directives, and maintaining promotional displays. Additional duties include assisting in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits/receipts), and loss prevention. The position requires maintaining store areas to company standards, protecting company assets, adhering to policies and safety guidelines, and ensuring all store associates follow procedures. The Assistant Manager will help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates, ensuring a positive, safe, and respectful environment. Maintaining cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal, is also a key responsibility. The company is Family Dollar, and the position is full-time at a physical store location. Managers may be required by local jurisdictions to provide background information to obtain specialized licenses for selling alcoholic beverages/tobacco products, and failure to comply or qualify can lead to demotion or separation of employment.
