About The Position

The Assistant Manager I supports store operations and helps deliver a positive shopping experience for customers. The role includes assisting customers with questions and recommendations, processing sales at an assigned register, protecting cash and company assets, stocking and recovering merchandise, receiving deliveries, and helping unload trucks. The position also involves maintaining a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional interactions with customers, associates, and leaders, as well as keeping the store clean and presentable. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents.
Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor level to above shoulder height.
Ability to meet physical demands including frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Previous customer service experience in a retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
Manage sales transactions at an assigned cash register.
Maintain cash security and protect company assets.
Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
Receive merchandise, help unload trucks, and replenish stock according to productivity standards.
Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment and interact professionally and courteously with customers, associates, and leaders.
Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable.
Perform other duties as assigned.
