About The Position

As a Merchandise Assistant Manager at Dollar Tree, you’ll join the Store Manager in leading a team of associates and creating positive experiences for the communities served. The role focuses on merchandising and processing freight while supporting store operations and day-to-day activities. You’ll also assist the Store Manager with merchandise receiving and returns, freight flow, ordering and stocking, and keeping the sales floor effective. The position requires strong communication skills, comfort working in a high-energy team environment, and the ability to meet the stated physical demands, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
Ability to work in a high-energy team environment is required.
Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height.
Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

Prior retail experience is preferred.
Prior management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
Maintain the stockroom, sales floor, and other store areas to company standards.
Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other communications related to store activities.
Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable.
Promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
Process the receipt and return of DSD merchandise, as assigned by the Store Manager.
Manage freight flow in accordance with productivity standards.
Order and stock merchandise, including frozen and refrigerated items, in accordance with productivity standards.
Ensure that the sales floor is sales-effective.
Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
Perform other duties as assigned.
