About The Position

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Manager to help with store operations, customer service, and team development. The role supports daily store activities, merchandise flow and presentation, opening and closing procedures, corporate directives, record keeping, loss prevention, store cleanliness, and the protection of company assets. The Assistant Manager helps the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates and promotes a positive, safe, respectful, and professional environment for customers and employees. This position is part-time and is located at 112 E Cypress St, Ludowici, Georgia 31316. Managers at stores selling alcohol and/or tobacco may be required by local jurisdiction to provide background information and qualify for specialized licenses. Failure to comply with or qualify for a required license may lead to demotion or separation. Employment is at-will, and the job description may be modified to meet business needs.

Requirements

Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives, such as merchandise schematics.
Ability to lift up to 55 pounds from floor level to above shoulder height.
Ability to meet demands involving frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Store management experience in a retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address their questions or concerns.
Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery trucks to the stockroom and sales floor, and maintain seasonal areas.
Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other store communications.
Maintain the promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays.
Assist with merchandise ordering, damaged merchandise processing, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash register deposits and receipts), and loss prevention.
Maintain the sales floor and stockroom to company standards, including keeping the sales floor well stocked and the stockroom organized.
Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
Follow policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, and ensure store associates follow them as well.
Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment and professional, friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable.
Perform other duties as assigned.
