About The Position

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Manager I to support store operations, customer service, and team development. The role assists with daily store activities, merchandise handling and presentation, opening and closing procedures, corporate directives, record keeping, loss prevention, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe store. The Assistant Manager helps the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates and supports a positive, respectful environment for customers and employees. Other related duties may be assigned, and job duties may change to meet business needs.

Requirements

Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives, such as merchandise schematics.
Ability to lift up to 55 pounds from floor level to above shoulder height and meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Store management experience in a retail, grocery, or drug store environment.

Responsibilities

Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
Help customers in a positive and approachable manner and address their questions or concerns.
Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery trucks to the stockroom and sales floor as needed, and maintain seasonal areas.
Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other communications related to store activities.
Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
Assist with merchandise ordering, damaged merchandise processing, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash register deposits and receipts), and loss prevention.
Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom in accordance with company standards.
Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
Follow safety guidelines and company policies and procedures, and ensure store associates do the same.
Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
Promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment and maintain professional, friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable.
Perform other duties as assigned.
