About The Position

The Assistant Manager for Game Management supports the Executive Associate Athletic Director for Game Management and the Assistant Athletic Director for Game Management in the planning, coordination, and execution of home athletic events. This position oversees game operations for assigned sports, including Volleyball, Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field, Cross Country, Men’s and Women’s Tennis, and Men’s and Women’s Golf. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day administrative functions, preparing, reviewing, and submitting expense reports in accordance with university and departmental policies, and maintaining the home events calendar to ensure effective scheduling and coordination of athletic events. The position also provides leadership and oversight for Guest Services staff across all athletic venues, including staffing, training, scheduling, and operational support, to ensure high-quality experience for fans, student-athletes, coaches, and event stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four years experience in or a combination of the following: Athletic event management or game operations.
  • Athletic administration or intercollegiate athletics operations.
  • Venue or event operations, including planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale athletic events.
  • Supervising event staff, guest services, or operational support.
  • Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to delegate responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience coordinating game operations for NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletic events.
  • Experience supervising event staff, guest services personnel or game day operations staff.
  • Experience planning and coordinating multiple athletic events or championships, including collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience managing event budgets, expense reports, or operational logistics.
  • Experience in athletic venue operations/event security operations.
  • Experience in venue crowd management, event management and game operations coordination within a collegiate level.
  • Master’s degree.
  • Ability to use Adobe In-Design and Photoshop efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of game operations for home contests in Volleyball, Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field, Cross Country, Men's and Women's Tennis, and Men's and Women's Golf.
  • Collaborate with the Ticket Office, Guest Services, law enforcement, transportation services, game officials, visiting teams, custodial services, and athletics facilities staff to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Oversee and manage all pre-event, event-day, and post-event timelines, logistics, and operational activities.
  • Maintain direct responsibility for Guest Services operations across all home athletic venues, including staff oversight, training, scheduling, and the delivery of a safe, welcoming, and positive fan experience.
  • Plan, assist and supervise the work of others for home athletic events.
  • Coordinate the events calendar to ensure effective communication with all stakeholders.
  • Investigate and resolve guest feedback before and after events.
  • Manage and maintain monthly and weekly expense reports to ensure accurate and timely submission.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders of home athletic events, including Yell Leaders, Aggie Band, Corps of Cadets, Aggie Dance Team and Hullabaloo Band.
  • Direct oversight for awarded sports hosting NCAA Postseason, predetermined NCAA Championships, Southeastern Conference Championships hosted by Texas A&M.
  • Maintain continual and thorough familiarity with all applicable NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations.
  • Establish and ensure communication and enforcement of rules and regulations concerning student athletes: conduct, appearance, road games, punctuality and other areas as deemed appropriate.
