About The Position

We are looking for an Assistant Manager – Fitness Operations to work at a high profile company’s fitness center located in downtown Manhattan, New York. This role involves leading daily operations of the Locker Room Attendant team, ensuring high standards of professionalism and service, and fostering a welcoming environment. The position also includes overseeing daily facility and locker room operations, serving as the Compliance Lead, managing the full equipment lifecycle, overseeing vendor relationships, and providing regular updates to the General Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum three years of experience in a fitness center that has close interactions with members and guests.
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
  • Must be knowledgeable about the industry with the customer skills to network, engage, and interact with all clients, guests, and participants.
  • Ability to effectively engage participants as a public speaker.
  • Competent with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations of the Locker Room Attendant team, including scheduling, supervision, training, and workflow coordination.
  • Ensure high standards of professionalism, service, and appearance aligned with Workplace Well being and client expectations.
  • Promote open communication, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across the Locker Room Attendant team.
  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and high energy environment aligned with Workplace Well being and client values.
  • Oversee daily facility and locker room operations to ensure clean, safe, fully functional spaces.
  • Serve as Compliance Lead, ensuring adherence to corporate policies, industry regulations, and client requirements and deliver compliance training and manage incident investigations.
  • Manage the full equipment lifecycle including procurement, installation, maintenance, inventory control, repairs, replacement planning, and evaluate new equipment technologies.
  • Oversee all vendor relationships, including equipment suppliers, maintenance providers, and specialty contractors.
  • Provide regular updates to the General Manager on budget performance, staffing needs, and operational priorities, and participate in weekly staff and management team meetings.
