This role involves independently handling stamping surface modeling for final machining of automotive skin panels, inner panels, and high-strength panels. The ideal candidate will have experience in Class 'A' parts surfacing with Catia or Tebis, and be proficient in creating draw and trim, and flange tools surfaces for final machining. A strong understanding of the stamping die manufacturing process, machining strategies, and NC programming is essential. The role also requires providing suggestions for reducing machining setup and time, and knowledge of concepts like trim clearance, flange clearance, trimline development, shear angle, and springback compensation. Surface morphing skills are needed to achieve positive contact and relieve non-functional surfaces. The candidate will perform trimline and parting line development, and possess knowledge of GD&T. Model optimization to reduce CNC setups and machining time is a key deliverable. Experience with surface modeling in CATIA V5, including draw models, trim inserts models, flange models, A-class surface compensation, and product data changes, is a must.
