Requirements

  • Engineering degree, diploma, or trade certification in Millwright/Industrial Mechanic, Industrial Electrician, Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or lead-hand role preferred
  • Experience in feed manufacturing, food processing, or bulk material handling is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including bearings, gearboxes, and conveyors; electrical systems and motor controls; pneumatics and process equipment; CMMS systems; and the ability to interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment with dust, noise, and moving equipment, including rotating shifts, on-call duties, or emergency response as required.
  • Ability to perform physical activities, including lifting and climbing
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work independently in the country where the role is based. Employer sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily maintenance activities, assign and prioritize work orders based on production needs, ensure timely completion of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks, and provide hands-on technical support for troubleshooting critical equipment failures.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision, coaching, and support to maintenance technicians; monitor/train team members on safe work practices and proper maintenance techniques; and support performance evaluations and skill development planning.
  • Monitor key process equipment, including grinder, mixing and batching, conditioning and extrusion, drying and cooling, and conveying and packaging systems. Identify root causes of equipment failures, implement corrective actions, reduce downtime, increase Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and reduce equipment Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
  • Execute and continuously improve the preventive maintenance (PM) program; ensure PM tasks are completed, documented, and optimized; and support predictive maintenance initiatives, including vibration analysis, thermography, and lubrication programs.
  • Support safe work practices, work planning and coordination, spare parts and inventory control, documentation and reporting.
  • Participate in initiatives to improve plant efficiency, reliability, and cost control; recommend process and equipment upgrades; and support best practices in maintenance management.
  • Have the authority to assign and prioritize maintenance work, stop equipment for safety or critical repairs, recommend disciplinary actions in coordination with the Maintenance Manager, and approve minor parts and maintenance-related expenditures.
