About The Position

Assistant Maintenance Engineers are responsible for performing general maintenance in Outpatient Programs, Group Homes, Administration buildings and Hospitals as assigned. This role involves a variety of tasks to ensure the proper functioning and upkeep of AltaPointe facilities.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience in the maintenance field preferred.
Valid Alabama driver license.
A good driving record.
Ability to read and write.
Ability to use power tools, hand tools, and electrical test equipment such as volt-ohm meters.
Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Performing general maintenance as assigned for AltaPointe facilities.
Performing electrical repairs, painting, and replacing broken glass in windows or doors.
Performing carpentry work such as sheetrock repair.
Maintaining air conditioners, heating, and plumbing equipment.
Performing other maintenance assignments as necessary.
Properly inspecting, servicing, and/or repairing all equipment used during maintenance.
Advising Facility Manager of needed repairs.
Seeking supervision daily.
Actively working to enhance skills.
Accepting and employing suggestions for improvement.
Treating consumers with dignity and respect.
Respecting consumers’ privacy and confidentiality.
Being pleasant and cooperative with others.
Actively participating in Performance Improvement activities.
Completing assigned tasks in a timely manner.
Working in a cooperative manner with other AltaPointe employees.
