About The Position

Virginia Military Institute Athletics, an NCAA Division I member and member of the North East Conference is seeking an Assistant Lacrosse Coach. The successful candidate will assist in organizing and directing all phases of the Lacrosse Program, recruit and evaluate potential student-athletes, coordinate team travel arrangements, and design and implement training programs focused on athlete development, injury prevention, and performance enhancement. This role also involves collaborating with coaching staff, the athletic department, and VMI administration to support student-athlete academic progress and personal development, performing administrative duties as assigned by the Head Coach, and ensuring compliance with VMI, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree as well as Lacrosse coaching experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Demonstrated success in training, mentoring, and developing student-athletes.
  • Proven track record in recruiting and retaining quality student-athletes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative approach to working with staff and administrators.
  • Work well within a team environment and meet deadlines while balancing multiple tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Some (generally two (2)+ years) of College Lacrosse coaching experience.
