Friendship Public Charter School operates a network of college-preparatory public charter schools, serving students from preschool through 12th grade. Our mission is to provide a world-class education that equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary for academic achievement and success beyond high school. The Afterschool Assistant Instructor will work under the direct supervision of a Group Leader and assist in maintaining a positive classroom environment conducive to learning. This role facilitates the Friendship Cares academic and enrichment curricula, completes daily attendance, and assists with general housekeeping tasks. The position requires maintaining a professional attitude, treating all children with dignity and respect, and attending staff meetings and recommended training programs. The Assistant Instructor will help maintain a neat and organized classroom, assist children in establishing good habits of personal hygiene, and attend school functions. They will supervise all activities to ensure safety at all times and report any problems with children to the Extended Day Site Coordinator. Incident Reports must be completed promptly and accurately as necessary. Additional program duties may be assigned by the Group Leader or Extended Day Site Coordinator. The role also participates in dismissal procedures, ensuring each child leaves with the appropriate adult, and greets parents and children with salutations and smiles. A positive, supportive team atmosphere is essential, and participation in Parent Open House and Back-to-School Night is required. Professional growth through training programs, conferences, and courses is encouraged to maintain current knowledge of early childhood practice.
