About The Position

The Infant & Toddler Center seeks a caring, reliable, and enthusiastic Full-Time Infant & Toddler Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in providing a nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment for children ages 6 weeks to 2 years. The ideal candidate demonstrates patience, flexibility, and genuine joy in working with young children. Full-time assistant teachers typically work 30–40 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Experience with infants and toddlers strongly is required.
  • Kind, patient disposition and genuine enjoyment of young children.
  • Knowledge of child development principles, early childhood education theories, and best practices.
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills.
  • CPR/First Aid or willingness to obtain.
  • Satisfy background check and state licensing requirements
  • A minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) certification or relevant coursework in early childhood; preferred Associate’s degree (preferably in Early Childhood); and/or a minimum of two years experience working with infants and toddlers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively with parents and/or employees of an organization.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Conscious Discipline is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Teacher with planning and implementing age-appropriate activities.
  • Provide nurturing care, including feeding, diapering, supervision, and maintaining a clean and safe classroom.
  • Support a positive, inclusive, and play-based classroom culture.
  • Communicate professionally with families and colleagues.
  • Follow all safety, health, and licensing requirements.
  • Assist with smooth, supportive transitions between daily routines.
