About The Position

The Child Development Center is seeking a loving, energetic, and dedicated assistant infant teacher to join their NAEYC-accredited preschool team in Southwest Austin. As an established non-profit preschool, their primary focus is on children, families, and staff, serving children from infants to Pre-K. They are committed to their teachers by providing low teacher/student ratios, continuous classroom support, and opportunities for professional growth.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must meet all Texas DFPS requirements
• Must pass a background check
• Must be able to lift/carry 30+ pounds
• Must be able to be on your feet for long periods of time
• General computer proficiency

Nice To Haves

• Associate's or CDA
• Previous infant experience

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with Lead Teacher to implement an engaging and developmentally appropriate curriculum that follows the standards for the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
• Collaborate with Lead Teacher regarding assessments, classroom materials, and specific child skill development
• Supporting children’s learning by implementing the lesson plan
• Communicating with families both verbally and in writing
• Building positive relationships with parents and coworkers
• Serve as positive role model for all the children
• Encourage language development through developmentally appropriate activities, songs, questions, books, and other means
• Active engagement with students and participation in classroom activities at all times
• Maintaining an organized and clean classroom environment conducive to play-based learning
