About The Position
The Goddard School® located at 50 Seaboldt Way, Chester Springs, PA 19425 is looking for a warm, dependable, and nurturing Assistant Infant Teacher to join our team! Our infant teachers do so much more than provide care. They build relationships, comfort little ones, celebrate first milestones, and create a calm, engaging environment where babies can explore and grow. You’ll work alongside two experienced Lead Teachers and a supportive team that values the important work you do every day.
Requirements
- A high school diploma is required.
- Previous 2 year minimum experience working with infants or young children is required
- You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
- Meet all required state background check, education, experience, and credential requirements.
Nice To Haves
- An associate or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
- Genuine love for working with babies and young children
- Patient, nurturing, and dependable
- Enjoy talking, singing, reading, and playing with infants
- Ability to stay calm and attentive during busy parts of the day
- Comfortable with diapering, feeding, and other infant care routines
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and grow as an early childhood educator
Responsibilities
- Help provide a loving, responsive, and nurturing environment for infants
- Build strong bonds with each child and respond to their individual needs and cues
- Assist with feeding, diapering, bottles, naps, and daily care routines
- Engage babies through talking, singing, reading, sensory experiences, and age-appropriate activities
- Support infants as they develop early social, emotional, physical, and cognitive skills
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom
- Communicate with families about their child's day, routines, and milestones
- Work closely with the Lead Teacher to provide consistent care and supervision
- Follow health, safety, and state licensing requirements
