About The Position

Mossyrock Jr/Sr High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our coaching staff as a High School Assistant Girls Basketball Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for the sport, a commitment to developing student-athletes, and the ability to foster a positive and competitive team environment. This seasonal position requires collaboration with the head coach and other coaching staff to ensure the success of the girls basketball program while promoting the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and academic excellence.

Requirements

• Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school level or higher, is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of basketball techniques, strategies, and rules.
• Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to achieve their personal and team goals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain prior to the season.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends during the basketball season.
• A commitment to promoting the academic success and well-being of student-athletes.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in developing and implementing practice plans and game strategies.
• Provide instruction and guidance to student-athletes in skill development, techniques, and game rules.
• Help organize and conduct team practices, drills, and conditioning sessions.
• Support the head coach in game day preparations, including equipment management and player assignments.
• Monitor the academic and athletic progress of student-athletes, ensuring compliance with school and athletic regulations.
• Foster a positive team culture, encouraging sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect among players.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and expectations.
• Assist in the recruitment and retention of student-athletes for the girls basketball program.
• Attend coaching staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required.
