About The Position

LSSI is seeking an Assistant Housing Manager for Meadow Ridge. This role offers a rewarding environment where you can make a positive difference in the lives of others. The position involves supporting housing management functions, including resident recertification, rent collection, leasing, and ensuring compliance with HUD and LSSI policies. The Assistant Housing Manager will also assume responsibilities of the Manager in their absence and support operations at both Meadow Ridge and Prairie Ridge locations. A strong commitment to professional, positive behavior and integrity is expected.

Requirements

  • Associates degree with one (1) to two (2) years of management/supervisory experience required. Or high school diploma or equivalent with three (3) to five (5) years of management/supervisory experience required.
  • Must possess the Certified Occupancy Specialist Designation (COS) or willingness to obtain within two (2) years of hire.
  • Minimum Leasing License or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Demonstrated ability to comprehend and follow instructions, perform assigned tasks, and maintain appropriate work pace.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent organization, presentation, and pc/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software.
  • Background check clearance required.
  • Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
  • Access to reliable transportation required.
  • Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury, and property damage required.

Responsibilities

  • Assume responsibilities of the Manager when the Manager is absent.
  • Responsible for recertification of all residents, including annual apartment inspections, meeting REAC requirements.
  • Assist with rent collection, reporting functions, apartment leasing, marketing, and following policies and procedures established by HUD and LSSI.
  • Ensure necessary reports, including but not limited to re-certifications and vacancy loss claims, are submitted accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Support both locations: Meadows Ridge and Prairie Ridge (across the street from each other).
  • Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest, and fair manner.
