About The Position

The Assistant D.U.G. Manager supports the D.U.G. Manager in overseeing all aspects of the Drive Up & Go operation. This position helps ensure efficient order fulfillment, exceptional customer service, associate development, inventory accuracy, and achievement of department goals. The Assistant D.U.G. Manager assists in leading the team while maintaining operational excellence and a positive customer experience.

Requirements

  • Previous retail, e-commerce, grocery, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop associates.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Basic computer and technology skills.
  • Ability to analyze operational performance and solve problems effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing daily Drive Up & Go operations.
  • Oversee order picking, staging, and delivery processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Monitor workload and staffing needs throughout the day.
  • Ensure online orders are completed according to company productivity and quality standards.
  • Assist with execution of company programs, promotions, and operational initiatives.
  • Deliver outstanding service to online and in-store customers.
  • Ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and ready within scheduled timeframes.
  • Handle customer inquiries, concerns, substitutions, and special requests professionally.
  • Promote a positive shopping experience and maintain strong customer satisfaction scores.
  • Assist with resolving service-related issues quickly and effectively.
  • Assist with training, coaching, and development of D.U.G. associates.
  • Provide daily direction, communication, and support to team members.
  • Help create a positive, productive, and customer-focused work environment.
  • Support performance management and accountability efforts.
  • Assume department leadership responsibilities in the absence of the D.U.G. Manager.
  • Monitor product availability and communicate inventory concerns.
  • Ensure proper substitutions follow company guidelines and customer preferences.
  • Maintain high standards for product quality, freshness, and accuracy.
  • Assist with reducing order errors, out-of-stocks, and customer complaints.
  • Support inventory management processes and operational audits.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety procedures, and operational standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all applicable health, safety, and loss prevention practices.
  • Ensure proper use of company equipment and technology systems.
  • Assist in achieving department productivity, labor, sales, and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Monitor operational performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support labor scheduling and effective resource utilization.
  • Help drive efficiency while maintaining service excellence.
