Requirements

  • One year of experience as a Highway Maintenance Coordinator, Roadway Programs Coordinator, or Transportation Construction Manager 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • Six years of technical experience in highway maintenance, highway construction, or maintenance of heavy equipment used in highway construction projects
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent
  • Meet the PA residency requirement
  • Able to perform essential job functions
  • Submission of criminal history reports (conditional offer of employment)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare plans and estimates for maintenance operations across multiple maintenance operations
  • Direct crews as they complete roadway, bridge, and seasonal maintenance projects
  • Meet with local partners to review projects and set work priorities
  • Oversee incident and emergency management activities within your assigned area
  • Monitor permits and environmental requirements for maintenance activities
  • Inspect work sites and review performance of supervisors and crews
