Your primary responsibilities will entail project planning, workforce guidance, and ensuring that maintenance activities meet all required standards.

Requirements

  • One year of experience as a Highway Maintenance Coordinator, Roadway Programs Coordinator, or Transportation Construction Manager 1 (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job titles, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Six years of technical experience in highway maintenance, highway construction, or maintenance of heavy equipment used in highway construction projects; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare seasonal plans, estimates, and programs for highway and bridge maintenance
  • Provide instruction to managers and staff on proper maintenance practices and resource use
  • Review and recommend actions regarding funding, materials, staffing, and equipment needs
  • Meet with local governments and public service organizations to discuss projects and set priorities
  • Assign tasks, evaluate performance, and support training and development for employees
  • Support environmental practices and ensure Fair Labor Standards Act responsibilities are followed
