About The Position

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join the coaching staff at Bedford North Lawrence High School as an Assistant High School Baseball Coach. This contractor position is designed for someone who is committed to developing student-athletes both on and off the field. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the game, excellent communication skills, and the ability to motivate and inspire young players.

Requirements

Previous experience playing or coaching baseball at the high school level or higher.
Strong knowledge of baseball fundamentals, strategies, and rules of the game.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with student-athletes and their families.
Ability to work collaboratively with coaching staff, school administration, and community members.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
A commitment to promoting the values of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
Must pass a background check as required by the school district.
Availability to work evenings and weekends during the baseball season.

Nice To Haves

First Aid and CPR certification preferred, or the willingness to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

Assist the head coach in planning and implementing practice sessions, drills, and game strategies.
Provide individual and group instruction to players, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Help in the organization and management of team activities, including games, tournaments, and fundraising events.
Collaborate with the head coach to evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback.
Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that encourages player participation and growth.
Maintain communication with players, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations and schedules.
Assist in the recruitment and retention of student-athletes for the baseball program.
Ensure compliance with all school, district, and state regulations related to high school athletics.
Support the head coach in maintaining equipment and facilities in good condition.
Attend staff meetings, coaching clinics, and professional development opportunities as required.
