Job Responsibilities: Directly supervises at least 10 employees. Conducts all responsibilities in a manner that aligns with Peco’s vision, mission and core values. Overall responsibility is to pick up hatch eggs, hatch and deliver quality chicks at a competitive cost. Responsible for directing, controlling, coordinating and maintaining all aspects of the hatchery operation and trucking fleet to provide a high quality chick at a competitive cost. Responsible for daily paperwork such as: payroll, absentee sheets, vacation requests, and disciplinary action forms. Maintain accurate record keeping of personnel, ordering supplies, coordinating trucking routes, and safety correspondence. Responsible for knowing and communicating all hatchery and corporate policies. Works with other company supervisors in coordinating chick placement, and eggs transferred between locations. Follow animal welfare and biosecurity programs and ensure that employees are trained and following these standards. Handles and ensures employees handle various chemicals, vaccines, and medications safely. Maintain adequate staffing. Ensure compliance with all applicable government agencies and regulations. Physical Demands: Sitting/standing/walking and driving 100% of the workday. Working in normal room environment, outside environment, and in cold, hot, humid, and dusty conditions. Lifting various weights on an as needed basis. Physically able to climb a ladder at various heights.
