About The Position

The Out of School Time (OST ECS) program at Episcopal Community Services is seeking Assistant Group Supervisors to help lead its Out of School Time Programs at various schools in the Philadelphia area. The ECS OST program offers a secure and supportive setting, enrichment activities, academic help, field trips, service learning, physical activity, and nutritious snacks and meals to foster children's development and reinforce academic skills. The program integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) through project-based learning and expert consultants, aligning with SDP classroom curricula. There is a strong emphasis on supporting the entire family, not just the child. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with youth and are dedicated to making a positive impact through active support.

Requirements

High school diploma and two (2) years/2500 hours of experience with children OR High school diploma, 15 credit hours from an accredited college in education or human services field and one (1) year experience with children OR High school diploma and 30 credit hours from an accredited college in education or human services field.
All OST Employees are required to have or acquire PA related background clearances prior to beginning work.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Classroom and behavioral management skills.
In-depth knowledge of and experience working with children and youth.
Ability to maintain a flexible schedule (e.g. able to work half days, professional development, and attend agency meetings).
Ability to relate and work with culturally diverse children and families in a helpful and non-judgmental manner.
Requires excellent relationship building and critical thinking skills.

Nice To Haves

Associates degree in related discipline is highly desired.

Responsibilities

Supervise children in the OST Program.
Assist with the implementation of daily program activities in the OST Program.
Implement and track structure activity projects.
Provide academic assistance for children and youth in OST Program.
Provide a safe, engaging experience for program youth.
Create and implement activities for children and youth contributing to improved self-esteem, school performance, and daily functioning in the family, school, and community.
Engage OST Middle School youth in formal and informal instruction with academic and enrichment activities.
Be knowledgeable of mandated reporter regulations, trauma-informed care, de-escalation techniques and crisis management (conflict resolution).
Assist with meals and snacks.
Maintain OST Program in a clean and safe manner.
Maintain participant and staff confidentiality.
Assist Coordinator in retrieving and managing program supplies.
Must be able to work the shifts as required to ensure program ratios are met.
Observe, assess and communicate relevant information pertaining to program participants, incidents and locations.
Must attend all compliance related training.
