About The Position

This role involves assisting with the planning and execution of daily swim practices for age-group and/or senior-level athletes. The Assistant Group Coach will teach and reinforce proper swimming techniques, provide constructive feedback, and support athlete development. The position also requires attending swim meets, promoting a positive training environment, and communicating effectively with all stakeholders. Adherence to USA Swimming policies, including Safe Sport requirements, is mandatory.

Requirements

• Competitive swimming background required
• Strong knowledge of stroke mechanics, training methodologies, and race preparation.
• Ability to motivate and inspire swimmers of varying ages and skill levels.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

• Collegiate swimming experience preferred.
• Previous coaching experience with age-group or competitive swimmers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and conducting daily swim practices for age-group and/or senior-level athletes.
• Teach and reinforce proper stroke technique, starts, turns, and race strategies.
• Provide constructive feedback and individualized instruction to swimmers.
• Support athlete progression through goal setting, performance evaluation, and skill development.
• Attend and assist at local, regional, and championship swim meets as assigned.
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe training environment.
• Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, and coaching staff.
• Assist with team events, clinics, and community outreach activities.
• Adhere to all USA Swimming policies, including Safe Sport requirements and athlete protection guidelines.
