About The Position

The Assistant Golf Professional is responsible for assisting the Head Golf Professional and Director of Golf Operations in the oversight of the Pro Shop, clubhouse, and guest relations. The role involves providing guests with an introduction to the clubhouse and staff, communicating start times, and setting a positive tone for the golf experience. This position requires close collaboration with the Director of Golf on various aspects including tournament planning and execution, monitoring play, providing guidance on golf rules and procedures, managing reservations, customer fitting and club repairs, conducting golf instructions and clinics, controlling the guest play sheet, coordinating transportation, managing inventory, and assisting with staff scheduling. The Assistant Golf Professional will also work with the Manager to develop and execute daily procedures for caddy staff and deliver coaching to players and staff. A key aspect of the role is maintaining a professional, friendly, and proactive atmosphere to ensure an exceptional golf experience for all guests, treating everyone with courtesy and respect, and making effective professional decisions. Additionally, the role involves assisting with Human Resources responsibilities, fostering a work environment that promotes teamwork, feedback, recognition, and mutual respect, and participating in the company's diversity and sustainability initiatives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Must be 21 years of age or older required
  • 2+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience (Caddy experience) Required
  • Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays Required
  • Knowledgeable of common golf rules and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Provide guest with an introduction to the clubhouse and staff, their start time and establish the tone for the golf experience
  • Communicate, work closely, and assist the Director of Golf with tournament planning and execution, monitor play, provide guidance on common golf rules and procedures, reservations, customer fitting and club repairs, golf instructions and clinics, control guest play sheet, coordinate limo transportation, inventory control, and staff scheduling
  • Work with Manager to develop and execute daily procedures for caddy staff, and deliver organized and effective coaching to players and staff
  • Assist in motivating the staff to meet facility objectives, provide exceptional guest service
  • Maintain a professional, friendly and proactive atmosphere that provides guests with an exceptional golf experience, ensure all guests and players are treated with courtesy and respect, and maintain professional image at all times, and be able to make effective professional decisions
  • Assist with Human Resources responsibilities, create a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction; quality hiring, training and succession planning that encompass the company’s diversity commitment; participate in the property's sustainability initiative through energy conservation and the use of recycling programs and materials
