About The Position

Work Where Golf is Legendary – Join the Team at Desert Mountain Club as an Assistant Golf Professional! This seasonal full-time role is from October 2026 – May 2027. Desert Mountain Club is home to seven signature golf courses, making it one of the most prestigious golf destinations in the country. In this role, you will assist the Head Golf Professional with all activities relating to the management and execution of the Club’s golf program with a focus on day-to-day operations. This is a pro-active position responsible for upholding a positive and professional image while delivering a world-class service experience for all members and guests. The ability to adapt and collaborate with teammates within a dynamic work environment is essential to this role. This position is intended to provide the necessary exposure, experience, and preparation for the Assistant Professional to pursue future growth and advancement within the golf industry.

Requirements

  • Must be a Class A Professional or actively enrolled and working towards a Class A LPGA and/or PGA Certification (PGA Associate Level 2 or higher required).
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have no traffic violations within the last three years.
  • Professional and a team player who is passionate about the golf industry and delivering exceptional service experiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a high-end golf operation is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional and enthusiastic customer service in all areas of the golf operation.
  • Assist members and guests with pre golf check-in, tee time reservations, special orders and the communication of information relating to Club activities; Ensure all needs are met.
  • Maintain familiarity with current happenings via Club communications and information shared by Golf Leadership.
  • Practice and promote name recognition.
  • Assist with Club tournaments and weekly event operations.
  • Greet members on the shop floor and utilize suggestive-selling techniques to maximize sale opportunities.
  • Mentor and support the development of those Associate Golf Professionals and Outside Service Professionals interested in advancing their careers
  • Accurately record all daily play on tee sheets.
  • Record daily sales via point-of-sale register.
  • Assist with quarterly inventory and obtaining budgeted sales goals.
  • Strategize to increase revenue and member satisfaction through category responsibility.
  • Perform opening and closing duties of the golf shop including the delivery of daily paperwork.
  • Ensure the staging of carts and practice facilities are set up and maintained in accordance with individual course requirements.
  • Monitor golf course pace of play.
  • Attend mandatory golf meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Golf Professional.
