About The Position

The Assistant Golf Professional will be responsible for assisting the Head Professional and Director of Golf in the daily golf operations. This role involves ensuring members and guests are greeted professionally, providing expert advice and services, and managing golf shop operations. The position requires a strong understanding of merchandising, sales techniques, and maintaining high operational standards. Additionally, the Assistant Golf Professional will participate in junior golf development, staff mentoring, and ensuring a smooth pace of play.

Requirements

Must be registered in the PGA Associates Program.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
Must possess strong computer skills.
Experienced in tournament operations.
Experienced in golf shop merchandising.

College degree a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

Greet and welcome members and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
Assist the Head Professional and Director of Golf in daily golf operations.
Render professional advice, services, and assistance.
Professionally communicate information and sell merchandise, becoming knowledgeable in all products and sales techniques.
Anticipate the needs of members and guests and offer appropriate merchandise alternatives.
Ensure golf shop displays are maintained at par stock inventory levels and meet or exceed standards.
Manage, open, close, and secure golf shop and storage areas.
Maintain golf shop revenue generated through sales.
Generate ideas for improving overall operational standards.
Participate in junior golf development, clinics, and instructional offerings.
Provide continuous coaching and mentoring to staff.
Participate in daily stand-up meetings, monthly ATGT meetings, and communicate with food and beverage staff.
Ensure the "pace of play" standard is maintained daily.
Accurately operate the point of sale system, verifying prices, taxes, and charges.
Collect green fees and cart fees.
Assist with physical inventories.
Answer telephones to schedule future starting times and communicate information professionally.
