The Assistant Coach serves as a key member of the athletic program and works under the direct supervision of the Head Coach. Assistant Coaches support the development of student-athletes both on and off the field of play by helping create a positive, competitive, and growth-oriented team culture aligned with the mission and values of Valor Collegiate Academies. At Valor, athletics is an extension of the educational experience. Coaches are expected to develop students holistically by emphasizing character, leadership, accountability, teamwork, and sportsmanship while providing a safe and meaningful athletic experience. Assistant Coaches are evaluated on their contribution to the student-athlete experience, professionalism, communication, program organization, compliance, instructional effectiveness, commitment to Valor’s mission, and their ability to positively impact team culture and athlete development. Successful Assistant Coaches understand that coaching is about more than winning contests- it is about developing young people who are prepared to lead, serve, compete, and thrive long after their playing days are over.
