About The Position

Assist the head girls' soccer coach in overseeing the girls' soccer program at Tennessee High School. The role aims to provide overall leadership, supervision, and coordination of the soccer program, fostering an environment that promotes skill development for competitive participation. The program emphasizes academics, discipline, high morals, team play, integrity, sportsmanship, and a strong work ethic, preparing student-athletes for productive citizenship. The assistant coach is expected to be a person of high moral character and integrity, loyal to the head coach and administration, and represent the school professionally.

Requirements

  • Previous soccer coaching experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Valid Tennessee teaching certificate preferred
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Responsibilities

  • Assist the head coach to evaluate and formulate an improvement plan for the overall soccer program.
  • Provide supervision of student-athletes involved in Tennessee High Soccer.
  • Assist the head coach with practices.
  • Assist the head coach with coordinating all game day activities.
  • Promote the soccer program in both the school and the community and serve as the spokesperson in the area of public relations for Tennessee High Soccer.
  • Work cooperatively with school staff, student-athletes, and parents in promoting Tennessee High Soccer.
  • Work cooperatively with coaches of other sports to ensure the overall success of Tennessee High Athletics.
  • Perform all duties assigned by the head coach.
  • Maintain and oversee the safety conditions of all dressing rooms, facilities, and equipment used by Tennessee High Soccer.
  • Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
  • Enforce the code of conduct and expectations for the Tennessee High Soccer program.
  • Perform such duties as may reasonably be assigned by the athletic director.
  • Ensure accident/injury reports are submitted to the athletic office in a prompt manner.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of the off-season strength and conditioning program.
