About The Position
This role involves assisting with the girls' basketball program, including coaching at various levels (Varsity, Junior Varsity, Freshmen), scheduling practices and summer camps, and ensuring player commitment to both academics and basketball. The position requires dedication to the players' development both on and off the court, effective communication with parents and the community, and the ability to foster well-rounded individuals prepared for post-graduation opportunities.
Requirements
- Background knowledge of the sport.
- Experience in playing and coaching the sport.
- Must hold a valid Missouri Teaching Certificate.
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively.
Responsibilities
- Assist with coaching Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Freshmen teams.
- Schedule and conduct practices throughout the season.
- Schedule summer camps for High School and lower grade players.
- Schedule open gym and games during the summer.
- Commit to supporting players on and off the court.
- Supervise players during practices, games, and travel (e.g., bus rides).
- Communicate effectively with parents.
- Attend younger players' little league games.
- Engage with the community to promote the program.
- Hold tryouts at the beginning of the season.
- Ensure players maintain commitment to academics and basketball.
- Develop well-rounded individuals with diverse post-graduation opportunities.
