About The Position

Canby High School is hiring an Assistant Girls Basketball Coach. This is a non-district funded position, contingent upon fundraised dollars. The coach will be responsible for working successfully with high school students, families, school staff, and the public, and performing extra duty responsibilities in accordance with school and district procedures and policies. The position requires the ability to meet criminal records requirements of the state of Oregon and perform the essential functions of the position.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of emergency first aid procedures.
• Current First Aid/CPR card required.
• Ability to meet criminal records requirements of the state of Oregon.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
• Applicant agrees to assume cost and arrange for fingerprint-based criminal records check upon offer of employment ($10-$20 at printing; $66 payroll deduction).

Nice To Haves

• Experience/knowledge of the sport of interscholastic Basketball.
• Experience/knowledge of coaching techniques.
• Experience/knowledge of student supervision.

Responsibilities

• Work successfully with high school students, families, school staff, and the public.
• Perform extra duty responsibilities in accordance with school and district procedures and policies.
• Adhere to OSAA trainings including: Interscholastic Coaching Course, Concussion Recognition & Management, Heat Illness Prevention, Anabolic Steroids and Performance-Enhancing Substances, and Interrupting and Preventing Discriminatory Acts.
• Complete District trainings prior to starting work, including SafeSchools (Vector Training).
