About The Position

Four Points by Sheraton Tampa Airport Westshore, managed by StepStone Hospitality, is seeking an experienced, energetic, and results-driven Assistant General Manager (AGM) to join our hotel leadership team. The Assistant General Manager will partner closely with the General Manager to provide leadership and operational oversight across the hotel. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership position responsible for supporting daily operations, developing department leaders and associates, driving guest satisfaction, maintaining brand and operational standards, and helping achieve the hotel's financial and service goals. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded hotel operations leader who enjoys being present throughout the property, solving problems, developing teams, and creating an exceptional experience for both guests and associates.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive hotel management experience, preferably within a full-service branded hotel environment.
  • Previous experience as an Assistant General Manager, Director of Operations, Front Office Manager, Rooms Division Manager, or similar hotel leadership role strongly preferred.
  • Marriott or Four Points by Sheraton experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel operations, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and Engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, develop, and hold teams accountable.
  • Strong understanding of guest satisfaction, brand standards, labor management, and hotel financial performance.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, payroll, productivity, and expense management preferred.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong commitment to guest service and associate engagement.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and Manager-on-Duty shifts based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the General Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hotel.
  • Provide leadership and operational support across Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Engineering, and other hotel departments.
  • Serve as a visible and hands-on leader throughout the property.
  • Support department leaders in achieving operational, financial, guest-service, and associate-engagement goals.
  • Monitor daily hotel operations and proactively address service, staffing, maintenance, and operational concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards, StepStone Hospitality policies, and hotel operating procedures.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction results and online feedback and partner with department leaders to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Respond to guest concerns and assist with service recovery to ensure timely and appropriate resolution.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop department leaders and associates while promoting accountability and teamwork.
  • Partner with People & Culture on recruitment, onboarding, training, associate relations, performance management, and retention initiatives.
  • Assist with labor management, scheduling, productivity, and payroll controls.
  • Review operational and financial performance and assist with identifying opportunities to improve revenue, control expenses, and maximize profitability.
  • Participate in budgeting, forecasting, revenue strategy, labor planning, and business-review meetings.
  • Support sales and revenue initiatives by ensuring operational execution aligns with business needs and guest expectations.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, maintenance, and presentation standards are consistently achieved.
  • Support brand quality assurance and property inspection readiness.
  • Ensure hotel policies, safety procedures, emergency protocols, and applicable regulations are consistently followed.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty as required.
  • Assume leadership responsibility for hotel operations in the General Manager's absence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
