About The Position

As the Assistant General Manager in our Operations department, you will play a key leadership role in overseeing the day-to-day performance of the business and ensuring that operational standards are consistently met or exceeded. You will partner closely with the General Manager to implement strategic initiatives, optimize processes, manage budgets, and support cross-functional collaboration. This salaried, full-time position is ideal for a hands-on leader who is comfortable balancing high-level planning with on-the-ground problem solving, and who can motivate teams to deliver excellent results in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in operations management, multi-unit management, or a comparable leadership role
  • Strong people leadership skills, with experience supervising, coaching, and developing diverse teams
  • Demonstrated ability to manage daily operations in a fast-paced, customer- or client-focused environment
  • Solid understanding of operational best practices, including process improvement and performance management
  • Experience working with operational KPIs, reporting tools, and data-driven decision-making
  • Basic financial acumen, including familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills, with a hands-on, solution-oriented mindset
  • Organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency with common business software (e.g., Microsoft Office or Google Workspace) and ability to learn internal systems quickly

Responsibilities

  • Support the General Manager in overall operations management, including planning, staffing, budgeting, and performance tracking
  • Oversee daily operational activities to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Lead, coach, and develop frontline and supervisory staff to achieve operational, service, and financial goals
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement action plans to improve productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction
  • Assist in developing and executing short- and long-term operational strategies aligned with organizational objectives
  • Participate in the creation and management of operating budgets, including cost control and resource allocation
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and drive initiatives that enhance workflow, reduce waste, and optimize resources
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and regulatory requirements across all operational activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as HR, Finance, and Sales to support integrated business operations
  • Handle escalated customer or client issues, working to resolve problems quickly and maintain strong relationships
  • Contribute to hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance evaluation of team members within the operations function
  • Prepare and present regular reports on operational results, challenges, and opportunities to the General Manager and senior leadership
  • Act as the acting General Manager when required, ensuring continuity of leadership and decision-making
