About The Position

As an Assistant General Manager, you will be using your skills to support the General Manager in day-to-day operations of your restaurant. You will be responsible for upholding Sandy Pickle standards through utilizing your leadership skills to facilitate training opportunities, lead shifts, create teamwork, develop shift managers and hire new team members. Your business acumen will provide support in financial management, and your creativity and teamwork skills to ensure that all guests and team members have the best possible experience.

Requirements

High School Diploma or related required
Minimum 3+ years experience as a Restaurant Manager in a full-service dining environment required
Minimum 5+ years hospitality experience
Current Food Service Manager certification
Self-discipline, initiative, leadership ability and outgoing.
Pleasant, polite manner and a neat and clean appearance.
Ability to motivate employees to work as a team to ensure that food and service meet appropriate standards.
Must be able to handle the pressures of simultaneously coordinating a wide range of activities and recommend appropriate solutions to restaurant problems.
Must possess good communication skills for dealing with diverse staff.
Ability to coordinate multiple tasks such as food, beverage and labor cost while maintaining required standards of operation in daily restaurant activities.
Ability to determine applicability of experience and qualifications of job applicants.
Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move product, equipment and supplies up to fifty (50) pounds
Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
Exposure to temperatures: <32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezers), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), >90 degrees Fahrenheit.

Responsibilities

Conduct training orientation to explain the Sandy Pickle Philosophy and oversee the training of new employees.
Assist in developing employees by providing ongoing feedback and establishing performance expectations.
Ensure that proper security procedures are in place to protect employees, guests and company assets.
Provide direction to employees regarding operational and procedural issues.
Interview hourly employees. support hiring, supervision, development and assist in the termination process if applicable.
Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents.
Completes accident reports promptly in the event that a guest or employee is injured.
Supports and assists General Manager in running shifts which include daily decision making, scheduling, planning while upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness.
Investigate and resolve complaints concerning food quality and service as needed.
Prepare schedules and ensure that the restaurant is staffed for all shifts.
Help drive positive guest service in all areas.
Respond to complaints, taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests.
Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas.
Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances.
Responsible for ensuring consistently high quality food preparation and service.
Maintain professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards.
Supervise portion control and quantities of preparation to minimize waste.
Estimate food needs, place orders with distributors, and schedule the delivery of fresh food and supplies
Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by leader
