Requirements

  • BS in Exercise Science or other related field preferred
  • CPR certification required
  • Personal training certificate required
  • Experience teaching group exercise classes required
  • Personal training experience required
  • Proficient in Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.), Microsoft Office/Teams, and Canva

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in fitness and wellness programming and event planning preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assists with day-to-day operations of the fitness center, leading by example and setting clear expectations for performance
  • Assists the General Manager with recruiting, hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating the team and all group fitness contractors
  • Foster a supportive, friendly, team environment where respect is demonstrated, contributions are recognized, and process improvement is encouraged
  • Incentive programming and event planning (creating, planning, organizing, and executing)
  • Email blasts and campaigns
  • Utilizes social media to update fitness center information: Facebook, Instagram, website, etc.
  • Mains a supportive, friendly, team environment
  • Contributes to process improvement
  • Conducts fitness center orientations - membership and tours
  • Aids in purchasing supplies for the fitness center
  • Health education and promotion
  • Performs safety checks to maintain a safe work environment
  • Helps with equipment upkeep and inventory
  • Floor supervision, cleaning and equipment maintenance
  • Assists General Manager in team scheduling and coverage (including 24/7 and all open hours)
  • Manages and supervises group fitness and personal training programs
  • Manages all instructors - ensures paperwork and certifications are current
  • Creates group exercise schedule - printed and updated online
  • Communicate schedule and classes with other staff and instructors regularly
  • Assists with hiring new instructors, including auditions
  • Trains instructors - completes Elevation Health in house group exercise training manual
  • Submits Group Exercise/Personal Trainer check requests in accordance with schedule
  • Tracks attendance and statistics and able to provide report on group exercise program monthly
  • Creates surveys to send to members to understand needs/wants
  • Performs instructor evaluations
  • Uphold company risk management practices including creation and maintenance of operations manual, monthly facility walk-throughs, annual inspections, facility-related documentation, etc.
  • Adhere to standards for equipment cleaning, preventive maintenance and repair
  • Meet and support objectives, goals and initiatives of the specific Elevation team
  • Contribute new ideas, seek internal and external resources to support the goals of the teams
  • Adheres to timelines, produces quality work, show initiative by taking on team responsibilities
  • Review company communications and complete action items by established due dates
  • Attend and actively participate in team meetings
  • Seek out internal/external resources and explore opportunities for professional growth
  • Compliance with Centers of Excellence
  • Personal training
  • Group exercise instruction (up to 4 classes per week)
  • Other duties as assigned
