About The Position

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) is a key leadership role responsible for maintaining the operational excellence of the club in the absence of the General Manager (GM). This role involves running the full operation to a high standard, developing department heads, and improving the club. It is suited for an individual who has excelled in previous roles and is ready to lead a high-caliber club, viewing this position as a stepping stone to proving their capabilities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of senior facility, hospitality, or operations leadership in a premium or luxury environment.
  • 3+ years of experience leading department heads or multi-team managers.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop leaders across both management and specialist growth tracks.
  • Strong financial literacy, including understanding a P&L, reading KPIs, and acting on data.
  • Proven track record of sustaining a high-performance team culture under pressure.
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C, maintained annually.
  • Criminal Background Check required prior to commencement.

Nice To Haves

  • University degree in Business, Management, Kinesiology, Hospitality, Recreation, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing all club operations including member experience, fitness, recovery, food and beverage, facilities, and sales when the CGM is not present.
  • Coaching, developing, and holding accountable managers across all departments, understanding their performance metrics, people challenges, and growth areas.
  • Ensuring service excellence by being visible on the floor, knowing members, identifying service gaps, and resolving concerns proactively.
  • Managing financial performance, including revenue, attrition, labor efficiency, and profitability, by actively monitoring the budget and addressing variances.
  • Building club culture and developing talent to ensure the club can operate at a high level even in the absence of the CGM and AGM.
