About The Position

Pearlz Oyster & Raw Bar in Columbia's Vista District is seeking an Assistant General Manager. This role offers a unique opportunity to help lead multiple guest experiences within one of South Carolina's busiest entertainment districts, connected to Kaminsky's Dessert Café and featuring an upstairs bar and lounge. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys developing people, and can keep a team focused while delivering exceptional hospitality. This position is an opportunity to strengthen leadership experience, take on operational responsibility, and prepare for a General Manager role within Homegrown Hospitality Group.

Requirements

Two or more years of restaurant management experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant.
A passion for coaching, mentoring and developing people.
Strong financial and operational leadership, including labor management and cost controls.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
A collaborative leader who leads with humility, accountability and a genuine passion for hospitality.
The ability to stay calm, organized and positive in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as business demands.

Responsibilities

Partner with the General Manager to lead daily operations for Pearlz Oyster & Raw Bar, the upstairs lounge and support the adjoining Kaminsky's Dessert Café.
Coach, develop and inspire both management and hourly team members.
Foster a culture built on hospitality, accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
Deliver exceptional guest experiences through visible, hands-on leadership.
Help drive sales, profitability, labor performance and operational excellence.
Recruit, hire, train and develop future Homegrown Hospitality Group leaders.
Lead confidently during Gamecock football weekends, festivals, concerts and other high-volume events.
Build relationships throughout the Columbia community while representing both Pearlz and Homegrown Hospitality Group.
