About The Position

Sushi-san is a restaurant in Chicago serving up the best sushi and binchotan roasted meats using the freshest ingredients, all with a side of old-school hip-hop and ice-cold beer. Sushi-san Lincoln Park is currently hiring an Assistant General Manager. Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants, the parent company, is a culinary-driven restaurant company with over 130 locations. Requirements

5+ years of restaurant management experience
2+ years of AGM experience in a full-service restaurant
Skilled in leading and developing teams
Experienced with inventory and BOH systems

Responsibilities

Ensure day-to-day business operations run smoothly
Assist with training, recruiting, HR and administrative duties
Assist with financials / statement preparation
Assist the GM with customer service inquiries
Organize, run and supervise smooth and efficient daily opening and closing shifts, ensuring an exceptional guest and employee experience
Provide guidance and leadership to hourly and management teams while fostering our Culture of Caring
Respond immediately and effectively to guest and employee needs and feedback
Assist GM in managing costs, driving sales and growing the business in support of financial goals
Partner with GM and management team to interview, hire, onboard, train, supervise and develop all BOH employees and teams as needed
Perform regular and ad hoc inventories of food, beverage and restaurant supplies and track high cost items
Place food, beverage and restaurant supply orders
Accept and inspect deliveries
Model and promote teamwork across all teams
Use tact and good judgment when dealing with challenges pertaining to guests, vendors and employees, and respond with patience and courtesy
Work a variety of days and shifts (including early mornings, late nights and weekends) at multiple sites with or without overnight travel, as needed
Move and lift up to 10 pounds
Frequently move and/or lift up to 25 pounds
Occasionally move and/or lift up to 50 pounds
