The Assistant General Manager maintains managerial oversight for the front desk department (Front Desk Personnel and Maintenance) and communicates regularly with department heads regarding the performance of each department. This role involves recruiting, interviewing, and making hiring decisions for new front desk employees, as well as authorizing and approving all staffing changes. The Assistant General Manager is responsible for scheduling front desk employees to ensure proper staffing within payroll budgets and fostering a positive workplace culture. They also coach, train, and develop front desk staff in sales and customer service. The position involves connecting members to services, resolving concerns, assisting with financial performance, and ensuring the Fitness Consultants' image is maintained. Daily club walk-throughs are conducted to ensure facility standards, cleanliness, and proper functioning of amenities. The Assistant General Manager meets daily with the management team to strategize and participates in weekly staff meetings for team building and education.
