About The Position

Sally's Apizza, a renowned New Haven Style Apizza establishment since 1938, is expanding nationwide and seeking an Assistant General Manager for its Foxwoods Casino location. This role involves collaborating with the General Manager to oversee daily restaurant operations, manage front and back-of-house staff, and ensure exceptional guest hospitality. Requirements

  • Strong Computer Skills (Microsoft Office, Brink POS preferred).
  • Experience using third-party delivery services.
  • Basic Spanish (preferred but not required).
  • A minimum of 2 years of proven success as a manager in a restaurant setting.
  • Comprehensive understanding of restaurant operations.
  • ServeSafe Certified.
  • Must be available days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the General Manager to conduct day-to-day restaurant operations according to company standards and policies.
  • Manage front and back-of-house employees.
  • Engage with guests to provide a high level of hospitality.
  • Embody the Sally’s Apizza culture and brand history.
  • Serve as the direct point of contact for all team members on a shift-to-shift basis.
  • Function as the General Manager in their absence.
  • Understand the restaurant's sales forecast, labor goal, and cost of goods sold budget.
  • Mentor and coach junior managers.
  • Train hourly line staff to perform at a high level.
  • Build relationships that foster loyalty and teamwork.
  • Hold staff accountable to standard operating procedures.
  • Resolve guest-related issues.
  • Maintain presence in the dining room to ensure smooth service flow.
  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings with hourly staff.
  • Communicate daily operational updates to the General Manager.
  • Interview and hire new hourly line staff.
  • Administer progressive discipline when necessary.
  • Open and close the restaurant according to company standards.
  • Conduct end-of-period inventory counts and enter them into R365.
  • Assist with processing weekly payroll.
  • Place orders with vendors according to forecasted sales volumes and daily usage par levels.
