About The Position

The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in overseeing restaurant operations at a full-service, high-volume dining establishment. The role helps maintain company standards and service levels, increase sales, control costs, ensure accurate and timely financial and personnel administration, uphold the restaurant’s image, and deliver positive guest service. It also involves managing shifts and developing employees through direction, ongoing feedback, performance expectations, and reviews.

Requirements

At least 2 years of senior-level management experience in a full-service, high-volume dining establishment.
Extensive front-of-house knowledge.
Advanced knowledge of financial aspects.
Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
Stable and progressive work history.
Strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize food, beverage, supply, utility, and labor costs.
Assist the General Manager with financial, invoice, reporting, personnel, and payroll administrative duties, ensuring they are accurate, timely, and consistent with company policies and procedures.
Maintain a professional restaurant image, including cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards.
Ensure positive guest service throughout the restaurant; investigate and respond to complaints and take appropriate action to turn dissatisfied guests into returning guests.
Manage shifts, including daily decision-making, scheduling, and planning, while ensuring consistently high-quality food preparation and service.
Provide employees with direction on operations and procedures, ongoing feedback, performance expectations, and performance reviews to support their development.
