About The Position

The Assistant General Manager supports the overall leadership, operational performance, safety compliance, customer satisfaction, sales performance, and personnel management of the assigned location. The Assistant General Manager works closely with the General Manager to ensure company policies, procedures, and standards are consistently implemented and maintained. The Assistant General Manager serves as the second-in-command at the location and is expected to assume increasing leadership responsibilities as competency is demonstrated. This position is designed to develop future General Managers by providing progressive exposure to all aspects of site leadership, business operations, employee development, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and operational management. The Assistant General Manager may be assigned to support multiple locations, participate in cross-location training, provide management coverage, and assist with operational improvement initiatives as needed. This is a salary, exempt position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with responsibility for operations and personnel management.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop employees in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound business decisions.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting company goals and objectives.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driver qualification requirements.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel between company locations as assigned.

  • Experience in the car wash, automotive, retail, hospitality, or service industry.

Responsibilities

  • Support and oversee daily business operations.
  • Ensure efficient execution of company processes, procedures, and service standards.
  • Assist in developing and implementing initiatives to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and profitability.
  • Ensure facilities, equipment, and operational assets are maintained in safe and functional condition.
  • Respond to operational issues, customer concerns, employee issues, and business disruptions.
  • Monitor operational performance and communicate opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in monitoring labor, supplies, chemical usage, utilities, and other controllable expenses.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop management and non-management employees.
  • Assist with employee scheduling, staffing, onboarding, and performance management.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and development recommendations to employees and managers.
  • Serve as Manager-on-Duty in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Support Fast Pass membership growth and other sales initiatives.
  • Drive and support KPI initiatives to improve performance, consistency and overall site results.
  • Monitor customer feedback and customer satisfaction indicators.
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints and service failures.
  • Ensure site appearance, cleanliness, and operational standards are maintained.
  • Support compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Assist with implementation and administration of company safety programs, policies, and procedures, including but not limited to Injury and Illness Prevention, Emergency Action, Hazard Communication, Workplace Violence Prevention, Heat Illness Prevention, Fleet Safety, Powered Industrial Trucks, Lockout/Tagout, PPE, and other company safety programs.
  • Conduct safety inspections, audits, training, and safety meetings.
  • Assist with accident, injury, property damage, vehicle accident, and near-miss investigations.
  • Promote a culture of workplace safety and accountability.
  • Maintain required operational, personnel, safety, and compliance records.
  • Ensure accurate completion and retention of required documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company and employee information.
  • Participate in progressive training and development related to General Manager responsibilities, including operations, financial management, leadership, staffing, safety, compliance, and business performance.
  • Travel to company locations as assigned to support operations, training, management coverage, and business needs.
