About The Position

Join the team at Flix Brewhouse, the first-ever cinema brewery in America, where we blend the love of film with the joy of craft beer and delicious food! As an Assistant General Manager at Flix Brewhouse, you will have the opportunity to create exceptional experiences for our guests by supporting the GM in leading and managing all aspects of the business, including the front of house, heart of house, and brewery. Your responsibilities will include managing food processes, projection procedures, inventory, ordering, and optimizing profits and guest satisfaction. You will also assist in the development and engagement of the leadership team.

Requirements

  • Certified in food handling and alcohol service requirements, such as Serve Safe.
  • Extensive experience working in the restaurant industry.
  • Strong leadership ability to inspire and foster the growth of emerging talent within your team.
  • Solid understanding of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to effectively manage labor to facilitate a low turnover rate among team members.
  • Proactive, innovative, and timely in all daily work.
  • Ability to predict and manage COGs to keep operating costs in line with a budget.
  • Ability to support and empathize with guests when responding to feedback.
  • Expected to work a minimum of 50 hour work weeks.
  • Ability to drive the entire operation to success.
  • Extensive knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
  • Professional communication skills required.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, develop staff and mentor management and hourly team.
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the GM in managing daily operations including food processes, projection procedures, equipment, development and performance of team members.
  • Conducting inventory and ordering of food and supplies.
  • Optimization of profits and satisfaction of guests.
  • Assisting the GM with financial and operational performance of the unit, as well as complete satisfaction of guests.
  • Ensuring guest satisfaction is delivered by management and team members providing genuine hospitality and exceeding guest expectations.
  • Adhering to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs.
  • Delivering the targeted financial return.
  • Ensuring that all financial and payroll related duties are completed accurately, on time, and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with operational standards, company policies, and Federal/State/Local laws.
  • Estimating food and beverage costs, forecasting sales and profits.
  • Auditing service in all areas by all team members and providing feedback.
  • Responding to complaints and taking appropriate action to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Interviewing hourly employees, conducting orientation when needed and playing a vital role in training new managers.
  • Responsible for designated schedules assigned by the General Manager.
  • Ensuring proper security procedures, safe working and guest environment.
  • Providing direction to team members regarding operational and procedural issues.
  • Displaying a pro-active an innovative approach to skills development and standards with your team.
  • Ensuring restaurant food quality through completion of line checks.
  • Acting with initiative in planning for the future and possible consequences.
  • Being pro-active in getting things done and exceeding expectations of both guests and team members.
  • Developing interactive guest relations and awareness of any possible future requirements. Relaying such information and ideas to the General Manager for the enhancement of the guest expectation.
  • Setting a good example of the company dress code and appearance standards, ensuring that your team fully complies with all expectations.
  • Enforcing all alcohol and food licensing and regulations.
  • Enforcing sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of cinema.
  • Hiring, developing and nurturing employee talent to reduce turnover.
  • Understanding and reporting Workers' Compensation and General Liability claims using proper procedures.
  • Working closely with the management team to identify and develop team members for future leadership roles.
  • Ensuring the highest level of hourly team member training and validation of team member knowledge.
