About The Position

At Goldfish Swim School, we are passionate about building confident swimmers and fostering career growth for our team members. As an Assistant General Manager, you will be instrumental in the success of our swim lessons by managing and motivating a team, coordinating class schedules, and ensuring the school is optimally prepared for every lesson. You will guide new team members and families through their initial experiences at Goldfish and provide ongoing support as they progress in our program and in their personal development.

Requirements

  • Must be able to swim and pass a basic swim test (50 yards) to earn lifeguard CPR & AED certification.
  • All management team members will also obtain their Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification.
  • Requires schedule availability that includes some weekday evenings (until 8:30pm) and at least one weekend (Saturday or Sunday) shift per workweek.
  • Must be able to work the same scheduled days every week.
  • Must be enthusiastic leaders with a strong focus on employee engagement and the member/customer experience.
  • Must be able to tolerate exposure to warm, humid settings and chlorinated environments.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the quality and success of daily operations, including staffing, pool operations, cash management, customer service, retail and vending, private party operations, and workplace employee activities.
  • Directs and controls daily operations to ensure the school adheres to Goldfish Swim School’s standard operating procedures.
  • Provides sales and marketing training to staff and monitors progress towards quarterly and annual enrollment goals.
  • Develops and implements action plans when quarterly and annual goals are not met.
  • Achieves high-level competency in class bookings, scheduling, reporting, administrative functions, and the Goldfish Swim School curriculum, swim lesson quality standards, and safety standards.
  • Fosters a positive staff culture from day one through open, honest communication in a positive and nurturing environment.
  • Builds a team that delivers high-quality work, by cross-training in multiple roles, substituting when necessary, and embodying Goldfish Swim School’s core values.
  • Ensures the workplace provides fundamental job and life skills for career expansion.
  • Directs and oversees the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and all safety procedures for the school.
