About The Position

Planet 13 Florida (formerly VidaCann) is a large, advanced, and sustainable provider of medical cannabis in Florida, dedicated to helping people live healthier lives with all-natural, sun-grown cannabis products. We are seeking an Assistant General Manager for our new Sarasota dispensary. This role supports the General Manager in all aspects of dispensary operations and will operate the store in the General Manager's absence. The position involves ensuring efficient daily operations, providing exceptional customer service, maintaining compliance, and supporting sales and marketing efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to greet and check-in customers, verifying ID and cannabis card status.
  • Ability to dispense medication and collect payment via POS systems (cash, debit, etc.), ensuring accurate transactions.
  • Ability to access and utilize the state’s Medical Marijuana Use Registry (MMUR) for dispensing products to patients.
  • Ability to discuss and make product recommendations to customers, providing guidance based on their needs and physician's recommendations.
  • Ability to maintain strict controls on product, cash, and patient data at all times to ensure accuracy and security.
  • Ability to promote a positive, customer-service-oriented work environment and provide exceptional service to customers.
  • Ability to maintain a safe and clean retail store environment, ensuring compliance with all health and safety standards.
  • Ability to submit daily deposits and maintain accurate record-keeping in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Ability to support the General Manager in completing performance and sales goals.
  • Ability to oversee employees and perform GM duties as needed, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Ability to act as a liaison between management and employees, addressing concerns and providing support to the team.
  • Ability to provide solutions or suggestions to resolve minor team challenges and promote a collaborative work environment.
  • Ability to support marketing and sales efforts to ensure sales goals are met, including assisting with promotions and in-store displays.
  • Ability to stay current with the latest industry trends, product knowledge, and regulatory changes.
  • Ability to research and schedule community events or table days to engage with the local community and promote the dispensary.
  • Ability to assist the GM with product orders and report on inventory needs, ensuring timely replenishment.
  • Ability to support the GM in completing daily, weekly and monthly reports, including sales data, inventory tracking, and employee performance.
  • Ability to assist with inventory counts and ensure that proper inventory processes are followed.
  • Ability to support the General Manager with employee schedules, time-off requests, and staff coverage needs.
  • Ability to report ongoing repair and maintenance issues to the direct supervisor for timely resolution.
  • Ability to assess staff performance and training needs, and report findings to the GM to ensure continuous development.
  • Ability to comply with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure.
  • Ability to assist with the implementation of company policies, standard operating procedures, and performance standards.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Ability to ensure daily compliance with Company policies including but not limited to; state/local regulation compliance, security protocols, access protocols, dress code, and work schedules.
